The Cannabis Control Board approved the first permit for a cannabis cultivation facility to operate on Wednesday, June 24.
Guam Real Deal, LLC, operating under Deep Green Guam, holds the first permit to operate after the CCB voted unanimously approving the application, seven years after Bill 32-35 Guam Cannabis Act of 2019 was signed into law.
According to Department of Revenue and Taxation, Deep Green Guam met all government clearances and facility requirements, passing an inspection conducted by DRT’s Compliance Branch. Other applications by Greenland Farms, Inc. and Blue Wave, Inc. were tabled. In a press release shared after the meeting, DRT Director Marie Lizama shared that this is a milestone for Guam’s cannabis industry. “This applicant has paved the way for future cannabis industry establishments.
We want to thank him and all the other responsible officials who have followed the law and taken the necessary steps to enter the industry,” she said. mbj
