Hard Rock Guam closes its doors, follows Saipan closure in 2020

The Mariana Islands is now without any Hard Rock Cafes, following the closure of the Guam close to the Dusit Beach Resort in Tumon on Nov. 9. According to Journal files, the restaurant opened on May 10, 1998. According to its site, Hard Rock International Inc. was acquired by the Seminole Tribe of Florida in 2007.
Mere days ago the Guam location was still promoting on X, formerly known as Twitter.

No statement was released in Guam, but news of the closure spread on social media. Hard Rock said on Facebook, “Thank you to everyone who has loved Hard Rock Cafe.” The post said that it hoped the new owners would re-open the location.
The Saipan Hard Rock closed in 2020. It was at the T Galleria building in Saipan, which itself closed on April 30 this year, including the DFS location at the Saipan International Airport.
The first Hard Rock Café opened in London, England in June 1971 and is still there. In a city where reservations for dining were and are still standard, the chain declined to take reservations (though it does now), resulting in long lines at the Hard Rock location in Piccadilly. mbj
The Port Authority of Guam concluded fiscal year 2025 with an unmodified clean financial audit and a net position of $40.9 million, but faces narrowing operating margins that have prompted a proposed 17% multi-year tariff increase beginning in fiscal year 2026.
The Guam Hybrid Land Use Commission approved a request for a conditional use permit for the Pacific Energy Corporation to begin construction of photovoltaic facilities in the municipality of Yona.
A Guam delegation led by Jesse A. Lujan, majority leader of the 38th Guam Legislature and chairman of the Committee on Transportation, Tourism, Customs, Utilities, and Federal & Foreign Affairs, met with Philippine immigration officials to advance efforts to include the Philippines in the Guam-CNMI Visa Waiver Program.
