Moda Ginos donated 80 care packages to the Tamuning Mayor’s office. Items in the care packages included non-perishable food, hygiene products and face masks.
The Pay-Less Community Foundation donated a total of $29,833.20 to the Guam Memorial Hospital Volunteers Association, Harvest House Inc., the Knights of Columbus – Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Manelu, Oceanic Ascent Education Inc., Okkodo Parent-Teacher- Student Association, and Sanctuary Inc. of Guam. The funds were raised through the Pay-Less Markets 2022 Kick the Fat 5k/10k virtual race.
Bank of Guam donated $7,500 to the NMI Chapter of the American Red Cross gala, as an Academy Award Sponsor.
More than 250 people participated in a beach cleanup event at the Gov. Joseph Flores Memorial Park, also known as Ypao Beach Park organized by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Guam and the Guam Visitors Bureau to celebrate Earth Day.
The event also supported Taiwan’s presence at the 75th World Health Assembly the annual meeting of the World Health Organization in May.
In addition, in a virtual and in-person ceremony, Taiwan’s JAG Technology Inc. donated the JAG TeleCare remote health monitoring platform to Guam Memorial Hospital Authority. The platform is intended to bolster Guam’s remote care capability helping chronic patient care and responding to possible public health challenges in the future.
The P.D. Hemlani Foundation Ltd. donated infant clothing, receiving blankets, baby bottles and toiletries to I Hagan Famaloa’an Guahan the indigenous CHamoru Women’s Association of Guåhan, which organized a donation drive to benefit the Chuuk Regional Hospital Maternity Ward.
The Employee Engagement Council of Dusit Guam donated 50 gift bags of hotel amenities for use by foster children and foster families served by the Harvest House. The gift bags with items at a retail value of more than $1,000 included children’s hooded towels, large mugs, microfiber cleaning cloths and extra-large reusable eco bags.
In addition, through its Watts-Up Environmental Committee and Employee Engagement Committee, Dusit Guam personnel planted more than 70 hibiscus seedlings at the Ricardo J. Bordallo’s Governor’s Complex in Adelup, in partnership with the Guam Department of Agriculture’s Forestry & Soil Resources Division.
Members of the second cohort of the Guam Green Growth or G3 Conservation Corps and community volunteers picked up and filled more than 135 bags of trash following three village cleanups in March. The G3 group also sorted recyclables and painted collection bins. Further cleanups were planned in April and May.
The Guam Chapter of the American Red Cross donated 60 cases of drinking water to mayors’ offices for distribution to residents. The water cans are part of a regular donation to the Red Cross by Ambros Inc.
The Mariana Islands Chapter of the non-profit organization Daughters of the American Revolution donated several dozen package of menstrual products to Tiyan High School and Untalan Middle School as part of Project Sottera.
The Landmark Marina Hotel in Koror donated 1,000 masks to the Palau Ministry of Finance, which were distributed to all offices of the ministry.
GTA donated Easter gifts for about 25 children, ranging from ages 1 year of age to 17 years of age. GTA staff also helped Catholic Social Services staff stuff Easter baskets for the children at Alee Shelter. mbj
