KOROR, Palau — On Nov. 8, the ban on plastic bags went into effect in Palau at all retail stores. 

Under RPPL 10-14, or the “Plastic Bag Use Reduction Act,” retail establishments may not provide plastic bags that are not biodegradable or compostable to their customers at the point of sale or before the exit to transport groceries, food products, and other merchandise.

Before the ban took effect, retail establishments had already implemented the law as early as September by getting rid of plastic bags and providing costumers with the alternative . . .
