Joaquin L. Flores Jr. passed away on May 14 at the age of 73.
He was the president and general manager of Aviation Services Ltd., which did business as Freedom Air — a regional airline Flores founded with family members. The airline operated between the islands of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands from November 1974 to Sept. 27, 2013 when the airline filed for bankruptcy.
Flores held a Federal Aviation Administration Part 121 and Part 135 Air Carrier Certification for Freedom Air, enabling the airline to fly small aircraft and jet aircraft.
