Businesses agree that electronic waste has become a point of concern for Guam, and while there are companies that consolidate and ship the waste off island, not much awareness is brought to those services.
Electronic waste is a broad category, though it often refers to computer desktops, laptops, television sets, VCRs, mobile phones, printers and batteries. Unusable electronic devices may have components that can be repurposed, including gold, silver and other precious metals, so businesses collect this waste to sell them back into the market.
