Japan foundation hands over multimillion-patrol boat to Palau

KOROR, Palau — Palau was given a new patrol boat from Japan’s Nippon Foundation that cost more than $30 million.

Vice President and Minister of Justice Raynold Oilouch said the Nippon Foundation, aside from the patrol boat, has included in their donation three smaller patrol boats, a high-speed inflatable boat, a pick-up truck and satellite communication facilities.

The patrol boat is named the PSS Kedam, after the Great Frigate Bird of Palau.
