Officials to crack down on designated fire lanes in the NMI

GARAPAN, Saipan — The Northern Marianas Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services in Saipan are cracking down on fire lane safety in the Northern Marianas Islands and will begin official enforcement on Feb. 26.

Clyde K. Norita, commissioner of the fire department, detailed the specifics of the regulations and the actions that have and will be taking place, specifically near Garapan’s business district, to members of the Saipan Chamber of Commerce during a general membership meeting on Feb. 7.

The regulations for better fire lane safety were established by Public Law 19 . . .
