Matson Navigation Co. defended its June petition challenging federal subsidies granted to American President Lines for Guam and Saipan trade routes as part of the Maritime Security Program in a response brief filed on Feb. 2 with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Matson’s petition for review should be granted and MARAD’s awards of subsidies to the two APL vessels at issue should be vacated, it said.
The U.S. Department of Transportation and the Maritime Administration had argued in their brief filed on Jan. 12 . . .
