When meeting a new client, a common question is, “What is the best way for my company to take advantage of opportunities in government contracting?” My responses usually are, “Do you sell what the government buys? Is your company responsible? Do you have any past performance?”

So, what does the government buy? The website, www.usaspending.gov, is a great public resource for researching what the government buys.
