NMI governor, delegate submit testimony on labor bill to Senate committee
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Northern Mariana Islands Gov. Ralph DLG. Torres and Gregorio Kilili C. Sablan, NMI delegate to Congress, testified on Feb. 6 in Washington, D.C. in support of a Senate bill which seeks to improve the hiring of U.S. workers in the islands.
S.2325, also known as the Northern Mariana Islands U.S. Workforce Act, establishes steps towards increasing the percentage of Americans in the total workforce of the NMI while maintaining the minimum amount for non-U.S. workers.
