SANTA RITA, Guam — An overdue vessel from Chuuk transporting seven people was located through a coordinated effort between the U.S. Coast Guard, civilian craft and a patrol boat from the Federated States of Micronesia on Dec. 27, according to a Dec. 28 release by U.S. Coast Guard Sector Guam. The overdue vessel was found by the FSM patrol boat FSS Independence. All seven people on the boat were found alive and safely transported back to Chuuk. mbj
