Coffee company expands instantly with acquisition

The region’s love affair with coffee has spurred yet more investment.

Billbob LLC, which does business as Box Café Go Coffee Co., acquired Trade Route Co., which does business as Island Girl, effective Jan. 1.

BCG co-owners Peter Walls, managing director, and Richard Hawes, financial director, purchased Trade Route from previous owners Connie and Jeff Hurley “for an agreed undisclosed amount,” according to the new owners.

The Hurleys have plans to return to the mainland United States to pursue additional new business opportunities.

The purchase adds two drive-through kiosks, a mobile store . . .
