Inactive accounts benefit GovGuam but can be claimed

The beginning of each calendar year brings a welcome influx to government of Guam budgets — an unfortunate decrease of funds for bank account holders across Guam.
According to the communications team for GovGuam, $1.14 million has been transferred from inactive accounts across the island into the Treasury of Guam from 2013 to 2017 — an average of more than $200,000 per year that are drained from the pockets of Guam residents due to lack of attention.
