Dogs, dates and the dilemma of the NMI

I was in Saipan for the best of reasons — to give out scholarships on Nov. 30 to six Northern Marianas College students who have worked hard to maintain GPAs and meet requirements in a variety of circumstances. 

They are the recipients of the First Hawaiian Bank and Guam Business Magazine Businesswoman of the Year 2017 program. 

There has hardly been a better time to be a student in the NMI. The island needs a local workforce as never before, clearly. And if students need or want full-time or part-time jobs while they study — those are available . . .
