NMI agrees to let US Air Force use Tinian airport

TINIAN INTERNATIONAL AIRPOT, Tinian — The Commonwealth Ports Authority board unanimously agreed on Nov. 1 to allow the U.S. Air Force to use the Tinian International Airport if Anderson Air Force Base is rendered unusable. The federal government will release $375 million in order to improve the Tinian International Airport so that it can properly serve as an alternate air base. Tinian Mayor Joey Patrick San Nicolas said the improvements could eventually lead to more international flights . . .
