Hansen debt dispute leads to fishing boat arrest

MAJURO, Marshall Islands — A Taiwanese fishing vessel is being detained in the port of Majuro after a High Court judge issued an arrest warrant in a debt case involving a Guam-based company.

Hansen Helicopters Inc. Marshalls filed suit in the High Court in mid-October, seeking an order to hold the purse seine fishing vessel Taumoana because of a payment dispute with the owners, Ching Fu Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. and Fong Seong Fleet Co. of Taiwan.
