Macy’s announces new president, restructuring of merchandising

  CINCINNATI — Macy’s Inc. announced on Aug. 21 several changes in its strategies to improve the company’s performance, including the hiring of Hal Lawton as president, the creation of a single simplified merchandising organization and an enhanced focus on its data analytics capabilities.

  Lawton has been named president effective Sept. 8. He was most recently senior vice president of eBay North America, and has spent his earlier career at Home Depot and McKinsey & Co.
