Japan schools cancel trips despite assurances
Guam is safe and ready and willing to greet Japanese tourists, Lt. Gov. Raymond S. Tenorio said at a press conference in Tokyo on Aug. 23.
Tenorio was visiting Japan with Jon Nathan P. Denight, president and CEO of the Guam Visitors Bureau, to reassure travellers and the Japanese travel industry that the Pacific destination is in no danger, despite threats by the North Korean government to launch intermediate-range ballistic missiles into nearby waters.
