WASHINGTON, D.C. — The commander of U.S. Pacific Command highlighted the top threats to the Pacific region during the 4th Japan-U.S. Military Statesmen Forum on July 28. Navy Adm. Harry B. Harris Jr. named North Korean nuclear capabilities, Chinese aggression in the South China Sea and the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria making inroads in the Philippines as major challenges facing the region.
