VILLAMOR AIR BASE, Philippines — As part of ongoing counterterrorism support efforts, the U.S. delivered two new Cessna 208B Grand Caravan intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft to the Philippine Air Force on July 27. The delivery of the aircraft is part of a $33 million aid package providing equipment and training to improve Philippine counterterrorism response capability.
Since May, U.S. Special Operations Forces have been assisting with operations in Marawi City against Maute and Abu Sayyaf Group militants. Over the past decade, the U.S. has provided the Philippines more than $179 million in counterterrorism equipment and training . . .
