U.S. Labor Department rethinking overtime pay rule

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Department of Labor published on July 26 a request for information from the public regarding the overtime rule. The request is an opportunity for the public to comment and provide information that will aid the department in formulating a proposal to revise the regulations that define and delimit exemptions from the Fair Labor Standards Act’s minimum wage and overtime requirements for certain executive, administrative, professional, outside sales and computer employees.  

The RFI solicits feedback on questions related to the salary level test, the duties test, varying cost-of-living across different parts . . .
