TOKYO — Record numbers of South Koreans are choosing the sand, sea and sunshine of Guam and Saipan for their summer holidays this year, although it does not appear that North Korea’s ballistic missiles, possible nuclear tests and the deeply unpredictable Kim Jong-un are the main factor behind travelers’ decisions on destinations.
A remarkable 55,033 Koreans arrived in Guam in the month of June, up 19.4% from the figure for the same month one year previously.
In comparison, Chinese visitors slumped 17.3% to 1,582 arrivals . . .
