HAGÅTÑA, Guam — Sen. James V. Espaldon of the 34th Guam Legislature introduced legislation yesterday to gradually increase Guam’s minimum wage of $8.25.
Bill 135-34 seeks to:
- Increase the minimum hourly wage to $8.75 effective Jan. 1, 2018;
- Increase the minimum hourly wage to $9.20 effective Jan. 1, 2019;
- Establish a minimum hourly training wage of $8.25 effective Jan. 1, 2018 for a period not to exceed 90 calendar days, after which the employee is to be paid applicable wages under the law; and
