WASHINGTON, D.C. — The World Bank’s board of executive directors approved $36 million in grants on May 31 for fiber optic broadband internet projects in Kiribati and the Federated States of Micronesia.
The grants, including $20 million for Kiribati and $16.26 million for the FSM, will finance the installation of a submarine cable system connecting Tarawa, Kiribati to Nauru and Kosrae to Pohnpei.
