Elevator inspector appeals to court on issue of operation permits

Guam Inspection and Certification Bureau Inc. filed a writ of mandamus in the Superior Court of Guam on May 24 alleging that since January, Department of Public Works has not issued operating permits for elevators that have passed safety inspections the company has performed. The Guam Inspection and Certification Bureau is commissioned by DPW to perform and submit elevator safety inspections and reports. DPW issues elevator operation permits based on these reports.
