Businesses team up in bike refurbishing initiative

The Rigålu Foundation, with the help of local businesses, will be donating 65 refurbished bicycles to foster children at the end of June. The initiative began when Command Chief Joseph M. King of the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Marianas reached out to the administrator of iRecycle, Margaret J. “Peggy” Denney, regarding abandoned bikes on the Naval base property. Denney then contacted The Rigålu Foundation, which obliged to not only accept the bicycles to donate to its foster care recipients, but to also fund the parts needed to refurbish the bicycles.
