Jeanne D’Arc exercise resumes after ship mishap

ASAN, Guam — Joint Region Marianas announced on May 13 that the Jeanne D’Arc Multinational Exercise resumed after being indefinitely postponed due to a French Navy Landing Craft Unit involved in the exercise running aground on May 12. The French-led exercise began May 12 in Guam and was scheduled to run until May 18. Part of the exercise took place on Tinian.

The LCU impacted the sea floor in Apra Harbor at 7 a.m. on May 12. No one was injured. The LCU sustained damage to one of its two propellers but was able to return to Naval . . .
