Airlift stall: Various factors deter potential Guam-Japan carriers

The reason Japanese carriers have no plans to open new routes to Guam may not simply be lack of interest from potential visitors.

Despite the increase in tourism overall, the steady decline of Japanese tourists to Guam has been an industry-wide concern, and local businesses as well as the Guam Visitors Bureau and the Guam International Airport Authority have been putting efforts into incentives toward increasing airlift.
