David E. Silva Jr.: April 17, 1937 – May 2, 2017

Longtime Guam businessman David E. Silva Jr. passed away on May 2 in Tacoma, Wa., at the age of 80.  

Silva came to Guam after graduating from Golden Gate University in 1961 to work as an accountant for Crown Motors, then Allen Sekt Motors. Silva was a constant on the Allen Sekt TV Variety Show. Allen Sekt Motors acquired the Hertz franchise, both of which Silva took over when Sekt left the business in 1971. 

In 1981, Silva sold Hertz and opened his first NAPA Auto Parts store in Anigua. At its peak, Silva’s NAPA stores had . . .
