McDonald’s has been on my mind — firstly, because as McDonald’s President Joe Ayuyu and I discussed recently, the new McDonald’s restaurant in Yigo is a big part of commercial development taking place a stone’s throw from my home (Not that I’ll be throwing any stones.).

And then, as I was beginning this column, at 5:52 a.m. on May 10, Guam experienced an earthquake that shook the house.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake was some eight miles from Yigo . . .
