KOROR, Palau — The Palau International Coral Reef Center opened a new research facility on April 18.
Construction on the facility, valued at more than $1 million, began in 2015.
The building has been named the Tommy E. Remengesau Jr. Building, as a tribute to President Thomas E. Remengesau Jr. The center’s CEO, Yimnang Golbuu, said this is because Remengesau “was a key visionary in the foundation of PICRC and has remained a leading supporter.”
The president graced the ribbon-cutting ceremony, where he lauded the center’s continued . . .
