Efforts to decrease the amount of unaccounted-for water distribution in Saipan have started to pay off, according to Commonwealth Utilities Commission Chief Engineer John Riegel, with water loss now estimated to be around 64% of water pumped, down from 70% reported at a CUC meeting last April.
“It’s better, but still we have a long, long way to go,” Riegel said during a presentation at the Annual Water and Wastewater Conference of the American Water Works Association – Hawaii Section, Western Pacific Subsection on April 18 at the Hyatt Regency Guam . . .
