Chamorro or CHamoru? Or maybe Chamoru? A decision is pending on the conventional spelling to be adopted in Guam.
That decision will not only affect the official orthography or spelling, but has ramifications for tourist literature and for educational material on Guam if changes are made. The decision could lead to different spellings in Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands.
Bill No. 406-33 of the 33rd Guam Legislature passed into law, becoming the “CHamoru Heritage Act of 2016” on Dec. 30, 2016, and was signed by Acting Governor . . .
