Few people on this planet can carry off a persona that is at once larger than life and still very humble, yet that was Alfred Ysrael. At his funeral on March 27, stunning flowers surrounded the urn containing his ashes, the finely printed funeral booklet revealed warm color and black and white photographs of special moments in his life, his laminated funeral card contained a sweet prayer from the family. And the food! Mourners were treated to a sumptuous five-star buffet from the Dusit Thani — his family’s latest hotel — complete with servers . . .
