KOROR, Palau — Collection of the Pristine Paradise Environmental Fee, formerly known as the Environmental Impact Fee, has been postponed until the Palau government is ready to implement it.
President Thomas E. Remengesau Jr. signed into law on March 29 the amendment renaming the fee levied on tourists.
The fee would have been implemented by April 1, but because of the amendment, instead of it being delayed for a year as originally proposed, Remengesau said it will be implemented “at an appropriate time and in an appropriate manner.”
