IT&E responds to multiple cut cables in a week

CHALAN LAULAU, Saipan — Unexpected cable damage affected IT&E landline and DSL services for customers in the areas of Chalan Kiya and Capitol Hill several times the week of March 20, according to advisories issued by IT&E. 

Contractor Hong Ye caused cable damage on March 22 by cutting through 150 pairs of cables. IT&E advised customers of the outage at 3:15 p.m. and announced that it had been repaired at 5:55 p.m.

Several days later GPPC Inc. contractors cut through 25 pairs of cables. IT&E restored services the . . .
