Navy base hosts U.S., Japan ships for Multi-Sail 2017

  SANTA RITA, Guam — Apra Harbor was the arrival site on March 1 and 2 of seven Naval surface combatants assigned to the U.S. Navy and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force as the two navies began Multi-Sail 2017, a bilateral exercise led by Commander, Destroyer Squadron 15.

The ships included four forward-deployed U.S. Arleigh Burke–class guided-missile destroyers, one Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser, and two JMSDF destroyers.
