Saipan to receive $5 million for power plant and fuel storage

  WASHINGTON, D.C. — Acting Assistant Secretary for Insular Areas Nikolao Pula approved $5 million in fiscal 2017 capital improvement project funding for the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. in the Northern Mariana Islands for the repair of fuel storage tanks at the CUC that fail to meet required standards of the American Petroleum Institute, according to a Feb. 21 release from the Office of Insular Affairs.
