CAPITOL HILL, Saipan — The Office of the Governor of the Northern Mariana Islands received a legal opinion from the attorney general’s office regarding the casino license agreement, according to a statement from the Office of the Governor.
“The governor is studying the opinion and appreciates the [attorney general’s] concerns but disagrees with some of the details and conclusions contained within the opinion. It appears that portions of the [attorney general’s] opinion have somehow been received by Imperial Pacific, who today wrote the governor and requested the opportunity to address the concerns raised in the legal opinion . . .
