Nauru Airlines will cease its flight service to Kosrae in the Federated States of Micronesia at the end of March, leaving United Airlines as the sole carrier serving the island. Kosrae was one of several stops on a flight-hopper route between Pohnpei, FSM, and Nadi, Fiji. Nauru Airlines’ last northbound service to stop on Kosrae will be on March 24, and the last southbound service will be on March 26.
“It’s sad,” Grant Ismael, former administrator of the Kosrae Visitors Bureau, told the Journal, “especially when the community has been very supportive . . .
