KOROR, Palau — The fiber optic project in Palau is expected to be operational by January.
According to Sibesh Bhattacharya, senior infrastructure specialist and project team leader from the Asian Development Bank’s Pacific Department, the Palau project is running on schedule. He said major milestones on the project, such as marine and land cable route surveys, have been completed and environmental permits secured.
The manufacturing of the fiber optic cable and repeaters is also complete and civil works will commence shortly at the cable landing in Ngaremlengui State, he told the Journal . . .
