Feds argue lack of jurisdiction in buildup case

The Environment and Natural Resources Division of the U.S. Department of Justice on Jan. 20 filed a memorandum in the District Court of the Northern Mariana Islands in support of the U.S. Department of the Navy’s and Department of Defense’s motion to dismiss NMI activists’ protest of the Marines relocation to Guam. The DOJ argues that the District Court of the NMI lacks jurisdiction, supporting the Navy’s and DOD’s motion to dismiss filed last year.
