Editor’s note: Carmen Fernandez is the president of Northern Marianas College. She assumed the position in October, returning from having previously held the role from 2007 to 2010.
In her previous term as president, Fernandez led the college to reaffirmed accreditation in 2009, led the school’s effort toward receiving $4 million in grants and helped to establish the NMC Alumni Association and the NMC Council of Presidents, among other achievements.
She has developed a list of priority initiatives again this time, the most important being meeting the workforce needs in the Northern Mariana Islands, accelerating facility master . . .
