Safety business in Saipan expands in the Marianas

GUALO RAI, Saipan — Safety First Systems CNMI Inc. has come a long way since it was established in 1993, when it was still known as Safety Products Micronesia. The renewed economic activity in the Northern Mariana Islands, particularly on Saipan, has allowed the store to expand, bring in more products and hire more personnel.

Sixteen years later, in 2009, Manu P. Melwani and Richard A. Pierce formed a partnership to take over the company, making drastic changes and merging the 500-square-foot Safety First store located in Gualo Rai across from Springs Plaza . . .
