CAPITOL HILL, Saipan — The Department of Finance on Dec. 28 remitted $7 million to the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. to assist in the hospital’s ability to pay the past due and outstanding balance to the Commonwealth Utility Corp. and allow for improvement of utility service and infrastructure for the hospital’s longevity, according to a release from the governor’s office.
A few weeks prior to this, the governor signed House Bill 19-212 into Public Law 19-75 to make supplemental appropriations for the operations and activities of the government for fiscal 2017 . . .
