WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Department of Transportation granted on Dec. 15 United Airlines’ request for a six-month extension to begin its third weekly nonstop flight between Guam and Shanghai Pudong International Airport. The extension period is from Jan. 13 to July 13 and was granted under the condition that United commences the service as soon as practicable but no later than July 13. United requested the extension to allow additional time to coordinate with the Chinese government and airport authorities to secure slot times.
