WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rear Adm. Babette “Bette” Bolivar will be assigned as commander, Navy Region
Southeast, headquartered in Jacksonville, Fla., according to a U.S. Department of Defense release issued in Washington on Nov. 17.
Bolivar is serving as U.S. Pacific Command Representative for Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia and Palau; commander, U.S. Naval Forces, Marianas and commander, Joint Region Marianas.
Bolivar, who was appointed in August 2014, is the first female to serve in the position.
