WASHINGTON, D.C. — House Rule 6401, or the Northern Mariana Islands Economic Expansion Act, was introduced on Dec. 2 by Gregorio C. “Kilili” Sablan to increase the number of CW permits for fiscal 2017 to 15,000, according to a release from his office. The bill provides short-term relief to employers unable to apply for CW permits, as applications closed abruptly in October.
