As businesses today operate in an increasingly global marketplace, they seek applicants for positions with the requisite skills to operate in such an environment. They seek a workforce that readily explores new ideas and prospects and has a deeper understanding of other cultures, which allows a company or a government to explore options that would not have been available otherwise. French novelist Marcel Proust said it best, “The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeing new lands but in seeing with new eyes.”
